Our maintenance team provides all facility maintenance and baggage system maintenance at the Boise Airport. Essential Functions Performs preventative maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on airport operation systems to ensure proper functioning. Troubleshoots meters and control circuits, security systems, gates, on a variety of mechanical and electrical devices. Monitors and troubleshoots devices for mechanical, electrical, or IT-related failures. Upholds all safety standards and procedures when performing tasks to ensure the safety of the; public, coworkers, and self. (50%) Coordinates with supervisors and coworkers to ensure all airport facility equipment is operational. Provides input to supervisors regarding potential safety and operational risks. (20%) Performs general repairs and remodeling activities. Responds to customer requests for work orders and light maintenance. (20%) Removes snow from terminal, aviation and freight ramps and taxiways. Applies sand and de-icing chemicals to ramps, roads, and walkways. (10%) Performs other duties as assigned. Total Percentage = 100% Requirements Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training + High school diploma or equivalent, and + 3 years of experience working in facilities maintenance and repair including experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related systems Level of Knowledge: + Working knowledge of all aspects of facilities maintenance + Complex safety and security systems, baggage handling systems, programmable logic controllers (PLC's), mechanical, HVAC and related controls Ability To: + Utilize and safely operate advanced trade tools and equipment + Decipher and apply safety rules and regulations + Have a good working knowledge of computers and applicable software programs + Display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of City of Boise employees and the public + Communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance + Complete assignments in a timely fashion + Understand and comply with all rules, policies and regulations + Maintain prompt and regular attendance, and perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation + Individuals must be capable of operating vehicles safely and have an acceptable driving record Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training + 5 years of experience working in facilities maintenance and repair and a Journey-level skilled trade or Limited Electrical license + Prior experience in a 24/7/365 operational facility + Building Operators Certification or equivelant Licensing And Other Requirements + Valid state issued driver's license + Ability to obtain the following within six months of employment: + Airport driver's license Special Requirements Applicants must be able to pass: + City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation + Driving Record Check + Transportation Security Administration background check (SIDA) Working Conditions The physical effort characteristics and working environment described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
