Department Description: Fort Sanders Regional’s extensive surgical capabilities are transforming the surgery experience for patients in East Tennessee. From the area’s first robotically-assisted surgery system, image-guided brain and spinal cord procedures, to our hybrid operating room, Fort Sanders Regional provides patients more options and the best surgical technology available. We also offer traditional surgical options including advanced laparoscopy and day surgery procedures. The Surgery department at Fort Sanders Regional consists of 17 operating rooms where over 10,000 procedures are performed each year. Our surgical specialties include bariatrics, cardiothoracic, colon/rectal, orthopedics, plastics, vascular, sinus, neuro, and surgical oncology. Position Summary: Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, the Anesthesia Technician maintains anesthesia supplies and equipment and provides assistance to the anesthesia staff. Provides assistance to the anesthesia staff as requested. Receives and maintains inventory of anesthesia supplies. Maintains anesthesia equipment, to include exchange carts and gas machines. Assist with ordering/receiving OR supplies, OR charges (computer), transporting patients, and other OR related duties. Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested. Perform other duties as assigned or requested. Qualifications Minimum Education: None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically such as would be equivalent to a high school diploma or GED.
