Job Description
At Channel One Regional Food Bank, our mission is to strengthen food access and build healthy communities. As a CDL truck driver, you will deliver food on scheduled routes to other nonprofit agencies across our 14 county area. Truck drivers are responsible for loading their trucks, and unloading the product at each site, sometimes picking up and backhauling other product as needed.
*Primary Responsibilities include:*
* Properly load food orders onto truck, utilizing forklifts and electric and/or hand pallet jacks, and deliver product to member agencies throughout 14 county region according to scheduled routes.
* Upon delivery to member agencies, unload the product at each site.
* Pickup and backhaul other product, either purchased or donated, after deliveries are made as needed.
* Pick up and transport purchase product to Channel One, obtaining invoices and verification of counts before departing donor’s dock.
* Unload truck, weigh, and move product to refrigerated, frozen, or dry storage areas, utilizing forklifts and electric and/or hand pallet jacks
* Drive to deliver and distribute CSFP food boxes to agencies and/or clients at various sites throughout Channel One’s outlying 13-county service area, handling paperwork, managing inventory, and ensuring certification forms are signed by program participants.
* Provide standard preventative maintenance checks for Channel One trucks.
* Schedule annual certification of vehicles and advise Director of Operations of any problems, mechanical or otherwise.
* Assist with warehouse maintenance and other related warehouse operations as needed.
*Qualifications:*
* Valid Class B CDL required.
* Possess an unexpired Medical Examiner’s Certification Card or pass a pre-employment DOT physical exam
* Minimum of one year verifiable commercial truck driver experience and good driving record
* Able to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
* Forklift experience on either sit-down or stand-up model required. Experience on both preferred.
* Knowledge of warehouse procedures needed.
* Able to read, write and understand instructions in the English language.
* Possess basic math skills.
* Dependable and reliable; strong customer service skills.
* Must be able to handle physical workload, including walking, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting heavy objects weighing at least 50 pounds repeatedly.
* Inventory experience and computer skills helpful.
