Job Description

Loading, transporting, and delivering produce to clients in a safe and timely manner. Review orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Run routes efficiently, meeting or exceeding designated route times
• Deliver product efficiently
• Call in when customers does not receive their entire order (shorts)
• Handle company equipment properly, follow written driver safety rules, and perform pre-trip inspection
• Report accidents and injuries and any damage to equipment immediately
• Assist in shipping and loading trucks for afternoon routes and palletize product
• Handle any customer complaints professionally
• Meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the Company
• Follow all the policies as designated by the transportation department.
• Responsible for upkeep of vehicles at end of shift- clean cab.
• Meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the Company
• Work overtime if required as requested by the Supervisor.
• Must be able to follow California labor code 512(a) related lunches and break policy and House of Services (HOS)
• Good attendance and adherence to work schedule (early morning start time), working on weekend.
• Perform other duties requested by the Supervisor or Manager

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES:

• Must be able to perform all job functions safely 
• Excellent customer service skills a must 
• Excellent communication in English.
• Must be able to operate manual Commercial vehicle 
• Must be able to work schedule dispatch/assigned times 
• Conducting Safety Inspections Pre/Post Trip Inspections 
• Good understanding of driving rules and regulations 
• Able to lift up to 75lbs 
• Route -Multi stop experience 

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Must have a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and “clean” driving record (Including : No single DUI)

• Must have basic math skills( add, subtract, multiple, divide)
• Minimum of 1 year driving of continuous experience for a previous employer.
• Proven ability to communicate articulately in English and perform simple arithmetic.
• Must pass all pre-employment requirements.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations.

Preferred Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 2 years local food or beverage delivery experience.
• Pallet breakdown and hand cart delivery experience
• Previous experience in foodservice industry

• Stand for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, squat, turn body, and walk. 
• Lift and move cases (selecting product and placing on a pallet) ranging in weight up to 75 lbs continuously to and from heights ranging from floor to knee, waist, shoulder, and overhead.
• Use hands and fingers to peel and stick labels on cases. 
• Handle and feel objects and/or equipment controls; reach with hands and arms. 
• Must have the ability to talk and hear; must be able to hear warning horns on moving machinery and equipment. 
• Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include close and distance vision, depth perception, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. 
• Must exhibit a high level of endurance, energy, and strength to successfully perform position. 
• Must be able to climb on and off the box of the truck.
