Client Details We are currently partnered up with a Medium Sized Manufacturing company in their search for an Environmental Manager to join the team due to a retirement. This position will report into the Director of EHS and play a critical role in developing, implementing, and managing environmental programs that align with company goals and regulatory standards. The position requires a hands-on professional with expertise in environmental compliance, permitting, and sustainability within a chemical manufacturing environment. Description The Environmental Manager - Manufacturing will be responsible for the following: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local environmental laws, including but not limited to EPA, OSHA, and state-specific regulations. Maintain and update permits related to air, water, and waste in compliance with environmental standards. Conduct environmental audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate non-compliance issues. Develop, implement, and manage environmental programs related to hazardous waste, spill prevention, water quality, and air emissions. Oversee the preparation and submission of required environmental reports (e.g., TRI, Tier II, DMRs). Manage the company's environmental management system (EMS) to support continuous improvement and sustainability goals. Serve as the primary contact for environmental incidents, ensuring proper reporting, investigation, and corrective actions. Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on environmental regulations, procedures, and best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement projects that enhance energy efficiency, waste reduction, and water conservation. Track and report on key environmental performance metrics to leadership. Act as a liaison between the company and regulatory agencies, community groups, and industry organizations. Represent the company in environmental audits and inspections by regulatory authorities. Profile The ideal Environmental Manager - Manufacturing will have the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred. 3+ years of experience in environmental compliance within the chemical manufacturing or related industry. Demonstrated experience with environmental permitting and compliance management systems. In-depth understanding of environmental regulations, including RCRA, CAA, CWA, and EPCRA. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in report writing and presenting findings. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and environmental management software.
