Associate Attorney – Family Law Practice Group

A well-established and respected law firm in the Pacific Northwest is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join its Family Law Practice Group . This is a prime opportunity for an early- to mid-career attorney looking to take on impactful litigation work within a high-caliber team.

The firm specializes in complex and high-conflict family law cases, including custody disputes, separations, and high-asset matters. The team is known for its strong litigation presence, investigative approach to anti-fraud matters, and handling of sensitive, high-profile business divisions.

Position Overview

As an Associate Attorney, you will play a key role on the litigation team—managing your own caseload, appearing in court, and advising clients during some of the most difficult times of their lives. The ideal candidate is proactive, confident, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead litigation strategy and case management, particularly within King, Snohomish, and Pierce Counties.
• Prepare for and appear in court for hearings, trials, mediations, and depositions.
• Conduct thorough legal research and deliver strategic guidance to clients.
• Maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage competing deadlines and multitask across several active matters.
• Supervise support staff and paralegals as needed.
• Consistently meet productivity goals, including a billable target of 6 hours per business day.
• Approach unexpected challenges with urgency and sound judgment.

Minimum Requirements

• 1.5+ years of Family Law litigation experience in Washington State
• Active member of the Washington State Bar in good standing
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and legal software (Clio preferred)
• Ability to navigate a high-volume caseload with competing priorities
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and sound judgment
• Experience working in a hybrid or decentralized environment (e.g., Microsoft Teams)

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in finance, economics, or anti-fraud investigations
• Undergraduate degree in business or economics
• Experience with bookkeeping or financial analysis

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: $120,000 – $250,000 (commensurate with experience)
