Pay: $46,800-$63,440 per year, depending on experience

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Freight Forwarder Ocean Import Coordinator to join our team. This role involves managing the end-to-end ocean import process, ensuring compliance with regulations, and coordinating with various stakeholders to facilitate efficient cargo movement. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a thorough understanding of ocean freight operations, and the ability to handle multiple shipments simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the entire ocean import process, from booking to final delivery.
  • Communicate with carriers, suppliers, and customers to ensure smooth shipment operations.
  • Prepare and process import documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs declarations.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor shipment status, resolve delays, and provide timely updates to clients.
  • Work closely with customs brokers and internal teams to facilitate clearance and on-time delivery.
  • Manage and update shipment records in the system, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in resolving discrepancies and handling claims related to ocean imports.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and customers to optimize service levels.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in ocean import operations, freight forwarding, or logistics.
  • Knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs clearance procedures.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in freight forwarding or logistics companies.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific software and tracking systems.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms and import documentation requirements.
