LOCATION: Onsite, Fairfax HQ
The Graphic Designer for the NRA Shows & Exhibits Division is responsible for the development, creation, and oversight of all graphics and creative pieces for the division. This role involves leading the design and branding efforts for the NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits and providing graphics support for the Great American Outdoor Show.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Design and create the logo and style guide for the NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits.
2. Develop and establish the overall show look and brand guide for the NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits.
3. Create and implement a comprehensive signage plan for the NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits.
4. Design signage for the NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits, including directional signs, informational displays, and branding elements.
5. Design printed collateral pieces for NRA shows, such as badges, tickets, directories and maps.
6. Create promotional materials for NRA shows, including magazine ads, billboards, digital ads, social media posts and print flyers.
7. Write copy and develop messaging for NRA show emails.
8. Design and code responsive HTML emails for NRA show campaigns.
9. Create PowerPoint presentations for pre-show staff briefings.
10. Develop graphics and signage for the NRA Booth at SHOT Show.
11. Manage and sort submissions for the NRA's 'Defend the 2nd' marketing campaign.
12. Edit and create video loops for large screens at the Great American Outdoor Show.
13. Assist with website content and maintenance for both shows' websites.
14. Assist with general show operations leading up to events and on-site.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.
SCOPE: Reporting to the Division Director, the Graphic Designer will work closely with division team members and external partners. This role includes both hands-on design work and project management responsibilities, ensuring all visual materials meet the highest standards of quality and brand consistency. Travel required for both events and occasional site visits.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Visual Arts, or a related field. 3+ years of professional experience in graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in digital and print design. Proven experience leading design projects.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
� Excellent knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
� Strong experience with Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects or similar video editing and motion graphics software.
� Proficiency in writing responsive HTML for email marketing, with knowledge of best practices.
� Experience with PowerPoint or Keynote presentation software.
� Excellent understanding of digital file handling, conversion, and storage best practices.
� Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
� Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
� Creative problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
� Strong communication skills, with the ability to present and explain design concepts to stakeholders.
� Demonstrated ability to work independently or as a member of a team is essential.
� Knowledge of firearms and shooting a plus.
