Interior Designer/Interior Architect
KG+D Architects , an award-winning architectural firm specializing in educational, institutional, and commercial projects, is seeking an energetic interior architect to join our collaborative team. Ideal candidates shall demonstrate strong design capability, thorough knowledge of commercial construction, technical documentation proficiency, and outstanding communication skills.
Candidate Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or Architecture
· 8+ years of relevant interior design experience with an architecture or interior architecture firm
· Experience with K-12, higher education, and commercial projects preferred.
· Proficiency working in Revit. Experience with Enscape preferred.
· Strong ability to communicate in writing to clients, contractors, and design team members.
Responsibilities Include:
· Responsible for developing, articulating, and communicating the interior design for multiple projects of various scales.
· Develop and articulate the interior design, including space planning, casework, millwork, material palette, and color selection.
· Collaborate with internal team members, consultants, and vendors to create a cohesive and coordinated design.
· Provide input on lighting strategy, selection, and layout.
· Maintain up-to-date working knowledge of available materials and trends.
· Design and assist with furniture selection.
· Ensure interior components comply with project budgets and schedules.
· Participate in client presentations and project meetings. Prepare necessary materials to communicate design concepts, proposed material selections, and color palettes.
· Perform construction administration services related to interiors, to include submittal review, response to RFI, approval of shop drawings, and field observations.
