Description Position Summary - The Learning and Development Initiative (LDI), a collaboration between the New Jersey Innovation Institute (NJII) and the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), seeks dynamic, experienced, and well-qualified professionals to join our team as curriculum designers for our non-credit portfolio. This part-time role will involve developing a comprehensive curriculum focused on a variety of soft skills (e.g., communication, teamwork, leadership) and hard skills (e.g., engineering, architecture, design, and computing) across a wide variety of industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in curriculum design, experience with learning management systems (LMS) such as Canvas and experience with workforce development or skills-based learning.

Supervises - This position has no direct reports.
Essential Functions - Curriculum Developer: - Design and develop a comprehensive, engaging, and up-to-date curriculum for a non-credit course covering a wide range of soft and hard skills.
- Ensure the curriculum addresses key topics such as effective communication, teamwork, problem-solving, leadership, technical skills relevant to specific industries, and more.
- Develop instructional materials, including lesson plans, presentations, hands-on activities, assignments, and assessments.
- Incorporate real-world scenarios and case studies to enhance practical learning.
- Collaborate with industry experts and educational stakeholders to ensure the curriculum aligns with current industry standards and workforce needs.
- Continuously update the curriculum based on emerging trends and technologies in both soft and hard skills.
Education: The ideal candidate will have at a minimum, a four-year undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university or commensurate experience.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have experience in higher education, corporate training, or non-credit programming.
Skills: - Relevant certifications in education or specific hard skills (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma, industry-specific certifications) are highly desirable.
- Proven experience in developing educational or training materials, particularly in soft and hard skills.
- Demonstrated experience teaching or training in a classroom or professional setting.
- Strong knowledge of both soft skills (e.g., communication, leadership, teamwork) and hard skills (e.g., technical skills, industry-specific knowledge).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Passion for education and a commitment to student success.
- Experience working in multiple industries or sectors.
- Familiarity with current trends and best practices in soft skills and hard skills training.
- Experience with online teaching platforms and tools.
