We are seeking a skilled and innovative Product Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing products from concept through production. As a Product Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure that our products meet high standards of performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Development: Lead the design, development, and refinement of products, ensuring they meet specifications, quality standards, and cost targets.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Work with our internal team and outside vendors to create and evaluate prototypes, conduct testing to validate product concepts, and refine designs based on test results and feedback.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and marketing, to align product development with customer needs and market demands.
  • Vendor Negotiations: solicit pricing from our domestic and foreign vendors on new products and/or existing products with some upgrades
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving product design and manufacturing processes to enhance quality, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including design specifications, technical drawings, and testing reports.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality assurance team to establish testing protocols and ensure products meet all regulatory and quality standards.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Customer Support: Provide technical support to customers, addressing product-related inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in product engineering, product development, or a related role.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
    • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM)
    • Experience with prototyping and testing methodologies
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving abilities
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
    • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in the consumer products industry
    • Logical approach to challenges
    • Experience with Mass Merchant compliance standards (i.e. Walmart, Costco)
