Overview: The Estimator collaborates with the Operations Manager and pre-construction team to produce accurate and detailed repair estimates for construction projects.

About Us: Advanced Roofing & Sheet Metal has been serving industrial, commercial, residential, HOA, and new construction clients since 1980. Our extensive experience in disaster response and new builds has provided clients with peace of mind, knowing they are in good hands. We specialize in low-slope flat roofing, steep-slope composition, metal, synthetic, and tile roofing designed for tough climates. Our expertise includes re-roofing, roof repairs, maintenance, inspections, and HVAC services.
Key Duties & Responsibilities: - Create project estimates
- Assist in selling jobs to clients
- Conduct job site observations and takeoffs
- Prepare hard cost estimates and proposals
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers for material packages
- Coordinate with trade partners on labor costs
- Track and meet deadlines set by clients and managers
- Read and interpret plans and specifications from engineers and architects
- Ensure estimates comply with OSHA and building code requirements
- Qualify and contact subcontractors for bids on specific trades as needed
- Utilize Xactimate estimating software proficiently
- Build relationships with insurance adjusters, TPAs, and clients
- Work collaboratively with ARSM & JLG USA employees
- Attend safety meetings and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
- Complete other duties as assigned
- Meet or exceed KPIs
Physical Demands: - Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to sit for long periods in front of a computer and plans
- Ability to work in confined spaces for moderate periods
- Climb ladders and stairs throughout the day and inspect work at heights over 6 feet
- Kneel, crouch, twist, reach, push, pull, and grasp as needed
- Willingness to work over 40 hours per week when requested
- Vision to read printed materials
- Hearing and speech to communicate in person or via telephone
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
Key Selection Criteria: - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to foster positive relationships with others
- Strong prioritization and independent judgment skills
- Experience with adjusting is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Strong customer service orientation
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods and safety regulations
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in the construction industry
- Reconstruction experience preferred but not required
- High school diploma or equivalent; degree in construction management or related experience is a plus
