We are seeking a seasoned Senior GL Accountant to join our dynamic team in the manufacturing industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to leverage their accounting skills and experience in a fast-paced, innovative environment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our financial management, including cost and general ledger accounting, accounts reconciliation, and intercompany accounting. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage the general ledger.
2. Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, coordination and completion of annual audits, and reviewing financial reports/support as necessary.
3. Manage and perform Intercompany transactions and reconciliations, ensuring all balances match.
4. Analyze and report on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management, budget preparation, and analysis.
5. Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
6. Oversee taxes and abide by federal regulations.
7. Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.
8. Resolve complex accounting issues or assists other authority personnel in resolving financial issues.
9. Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers, and other records detailing financial business transactions.
10. Review records of accounts and input entries into proper accounts.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification would be amazing.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in general or financial accounting.
4. Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus.
5. Proficient in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and other business-related software.
6. Strong understanding of accounting theory and GAAP.
7. High attention to detail and accuracy.
8. Ability to direct and supervise.
9. Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
10. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
11. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
12. Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation.
