We're Hiring: Senior UX/UI Designer (Equity Only)

Join the founding team of VRV Athletics — a fast-growing social sports startup based in Charlotte, NC.

Are you passionate about designing products that bring people together in real life? VRV Athletics is a newly launched app on iOS and Android (live in NC & SC) designed to combat social isolation through sports and shared activities. We help users find new friends and build community through real-world play — from casual pickleball games to competitive tennis matches and everything in between.

We’re currently seeking a Senior UX/UI Designer to help us shape the future of the product as we scale nationwide. This is an early-stage, equity-only role , best suited for someone who’s looking to build something meaningful from the ground up and be part of a mission-driven founding team.

What You'll Do:

• Lead the end-to-end design process for our mobile app, including user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs.
• Own the design system and ensure consistent, intuitive UX across the product.
• Work closely with the founder, engineers, and marketing to ship new features quickly and iterate based on real user feedback.
• Bring a mobile-first, user-centered approach to everything we build.
• Contribute to product vision and roadmap discussions as a core team member.

Who You Are:

• 4+ years of experience designing intuitive, elegant mobile experiences (bonus if in consumer social or sports/fitness apps).
• Proficient in Figma (or your preferred modern design tool).
• You’re equally strong at UX and UI — able to think strategically while executing pixel-perfect designs.
• You’re scrappy, proactive, and excited to work in a fast-moving, early-stage environment.
• You're a strong communicator and collaborator — someone who thrives in cross-functional teams.

Compensation:

This is an equity-only role — we’re a bootstrapped startup building a team of passionate owner-operators. All current team members are working part-time, contributing a minimum of 8 hours per week . As we grow, we’ll revisit time commitments and scaling compensation.

Equity allocation will be discussed based on experience and fit.

Location:

• Remote-friendly, but bonus points if you're based in Charlotte, NC or the East Coast.
