About The Role Do you want to be one of the people behind the @OpenAI handle on Twitter/X? We’re looking for a smart and accomplished Social Media Manager (IC) to drive and manage OpenAI product launches, research updates, announcements, and general company news on Twitter/X from the @OpenAI and @OpenAINewsroom handles. This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week. In This Role, You Will Work closely with cross-functional teams to write and publish tweets related to product announcements, launches, and updates on Twitter/X Craft and present social strategies for product and research launches Organize and manage concurrent social needs from product, research, and comms Monitor and report on trends and conversations that are relevant to OpenAI and the AI conversation Balance the requests of many teams while ensuring content goes out accurately and on time Synthesize and communicate complex topics in clear language tailored for different audiences Exercise good judgment when called upon to make a quick or difficult decision You Might Thrive In This Role If You Have 7+ years of professional experience in social media management, preferably within the technology or AI industry Proven success in developing and executing social media strategies that drive engagement and growth Exceptional writing and communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex topics into clear, concise content for diverse audiences. Strong operational and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects, tight processes, and rigorous content tracking Highly fluent in the social media landscape, especially Twitter/X, with experience managing large brand accounts and real-time content publishing Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, balancing the needs of multiple teams while ensuring content accuracy and timely delivery Experience working in a global organization with a diverse audience A strong love for ChatGPT and use it all the time About OpenAI OpenAI is an AI research and deployment company dedicated to ensuring that general-purpose artificial intelligence benefits all of humanity.
