This position is eligible for our Hybrid Work Policy. Eligible employees can work from home up to one day each week.

Responsible for assisting in the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-wide Device Activation and DNS applications and their associated operating systems and databases. Responsible for Application Administration of Device Activation and DNS applications supporting all Charter Divisions. Will participate in full life-cycle of systems engineering activities of high-quality, scalable solutions.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Contributes to design sessions with Device Activation and DNS Architects, Requirements Analysts, IT Operations and Device Activation and DNS Systems Engineers.
  • Reviews existing integration capabilities, data sources, and proposed solution designs for feasibility, cost and functionality.
  • Creates detailed design documents and functional specifications for new applications / services and for enhancements to existing systems / services.
  • Creates work effort estimates for assigned tasks and support prioritization and release management.
  • Develops of core code modules, unit test tools and release notes for enhancements and bug fixes.
  • Installs, administers, configures and maintains Device Activation and DNS applications including operating systems and related software.
  • Provides 'on call' support to resolve Device Activation and DNS application issues after normal business hours.
  • Uses established change management processes, requiring operational procedures be performed with minimal customer impact, (i.e. during established maintenance window).
  • Works with database administrators to configure, tune and maintain databases in variety of languages.
  • Documents systems configurations and upgrades.
  • Designs and implements change control policies and disaster recovery plans.
  • Monitors and assists in managing applications, device availability, network conditions and system reliability and performance, service and program maintenance and storage resources.
  • Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Demonstrated in-depth ability to conduct design sessions to specify solution designs for feasibility, cost, and functionality
  • Demonstrated in-depth ability to create detailed documentation to functionally understand new and existing applications
  • Demonstrated in-depth ability to follow and implement established change and control policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated in-depth ability to troubleshoot application problems
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of development tools, application frameworks, and testing tools
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of Device Activation and DNS applications and software
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of choosing the appropriate lifecycle and the planning, monitoring and control of the systems engineering process

Required Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience; May require Industry Standard Certifications

The base pay for this position generally is between $75,200.00 and $120,000.00 . The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
