Working Conditions

• This position is eligible for a hybrid telework option, in accordance with CAL FIRE’s telework policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

• Will be working at a computer in a cubicle under artificial light. Required to lift 40 lbs.

• Minimum 50% travel in a sate owned vehicle will be required with possibility of overnight stays. • Required to support emergency mission activities statewide.

Special Requirements

• Valid CA Driver’s License will be collected upon hire.

Telecommunications Systems Manager I (Supervisor) – CALFIRE

Telecommunications Supplemental Questionnaire

Please answer the following:

1. Describe your experience as a Team Lead or supervisor of team implementing Voice Over  Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone system and give examples of key items you work to identify f rom an Information Technology integration and project management perspective.

2. Describe your experience as a Team Lead or supervisor in implementing radio and dispatching  console systems and give examples of key items you work to identify from an Information  Technology integration and project management perspective.

3. Describe your experience in project planning, physical layer design and installation for small to  medium sized campus facilities. Please detail key considerations for project approach and  solutions your team developed with respect to wired and wireless networking hardware,  Outside Plant, and horizontal cabling pathways, MDF, IDF planning.

4. Describe your experience as supervisor of a technical project and include challenges you faced  with respect to timeliness and budget.

5. Provide an example of a wireless or radio voice communication system project that you  supervised or lead integrated into a TCP/IP network.
