Dispatcher Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated freight broker/dispatcher to handle requests for trucks with a sense of urgency and secure the best carrier or dedicated truck to handle the customer's freight. Duties of this opportunity include answering calls, gathering information, evaluating rates, locating the most qualified truck/carrier to haul the customer's freight, communicating with the driver and customer to provide information and updates, and finalizing paperwork/rates for billing following delivery. The ideal candidate should have excellent customer service and communication skills, computer skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, access and utilize resources, and come up with viable solutions in a variety of circumstances. Responsibilities:

• Answer calls and gather details about the freight to be hauled
• Evaluate dedicated and 3rd party rates for each shipment to provide informed and competitive quotes
• Use 3rd party carrier sites to post loads
• Field calls and vet carriers to ensure all criteria are met
• Book qualified carriers
• Track the carrier and manage information flow between the customer and the carrier from pick up to delivery
• Process finalized delivery paperwork
• Take calls and dispatch trucks during scheduled nights/weekends
• Utilize resources to problem solve and meet customer needs

Requirements:

• 2+ years direct customer service experience
• Excellent computer skills
• Knowledge of basic percentage calculations
• Familiar with various truck sizes/types preferred
• Experience in the hot shot industry preferred
